BATTENFELD GLOENCO
First seven-layer blown film system
Battenfeld Gloenco Extrusion Systems (Berry Hill Industrial Estate, Kidderminster Road, GB-Droitwich WR9 9RB) hast just delivered a complex seven-layer blown film system to a major barrier film producer in Finland. This system will be used primarily for producing barrier packaging film for medical applications using reclaimed material in one layer. This is the first seven-layer system built by Gloenco. The extruders comprises one 90mm, one 60mm, two 30mm and three 45mm, all 25:1 Contracool ducted air cooled and fitted with gravimetric throughput control to maintain layer conformity. The entire process will be monitored and controlled by an Extrol 6032 computer system which will be coupled with IBC non-contract bubble diameter sensing and control. The film produced on this line will be primarily for high performance barrier products.
