BTC Europe signs deal with India's SCI / Distribution of pigments in Europe
BTC Europe (Monheim am Rhein, Germany; www.btc-europe.com), BASF’s (Ludwigshafen, Germany; www.basf.com) European distribution arm, has signed a deal with India-based materials manufacturer Sudarshan Chemical Industries (SCI, Pune, Maharashtra; www.sudarshan.com) to distribute the latter’s organic and inorganic pigments in Europe.
The new distribution arrangement includes effect pigments. BTC Europe’s managing director Jose Corral Montilla said the collaboration would enable his firm to extend its third-party product portfolio “and thereby strengthen our competitive advantage in the pigments market”.

SCI operates in more than 85 countries and employs more than 3,000, supplying pigments and solvent dyes for coatings, plastics, printing and digital printing, personal care, and special applications. In the 2021/22 financial year, SCI reported pre-tax profits of INR 1.7 bn (EUR 19 mn) on turnover of INR 22 bn (EUR 250 mn).
