Alexander Gerding appointed country head for India / Matthias Dohrn responsible for global procurement

On 1 January 2023, Alexander Gerding is scheduled to take over as country head of BASF India. He will thus succeed Narayan Krishnamohan, who is leaving the company. Gerding, who was born in Germany in 1979, has initially been appointed for five years and will work from Mumbai.
Gerding has been with BASF (Ludwigshafen, Germany; www.basf.com) for more than 22 years. He joined the chemical company in 2000 as part of a dual study programme and earned his Master of Business Administration from the US-based University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2005.
He has worked for BASF in Argentina, the US, and most recently as vice-president of business management for agricultural solutions for the EMEA region.

At the company's headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany, Matthias Dohrn is set to assume the responsibility for the Global Procurement division, as of 1 January 2023. He is currently responsible for the Battery Base Metals & Recycling unit and succeeds Stefano Pigozzi, who is set to retire.
