German chemicals giant BASF (Ludwigshafen; www.basf.com) has announced the opening of an ASEAN technical development centre adjacent to its existing polyurethane system house at the company’s Bangpoo site in Phraeksa / Thailand. The company said the new facility is home to state-of-the-art pre-polymer reactor technology to produce component B hardener.
The advanced reactor technology is designed to deliver a larger capacity, to meet most customer requirements across all grades, and is capable of developing customised PU-system products. With a total production area of 2,700 m², the redesigned system house includes additional mixing vessels, reactors and storage tanks, the company said.
