BASF (Ludwigshafen / Germany; www.basf.com) has launched a facility that produces "Infinergy" expanded thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) in Changhua / Taiwan. The plant is located at the company's existing site, and will support rising demand of expanded TPU. Infinergy materials are used in various applications such as transportation, furniture, construction and sports equipment.
The material was launched in 2013, when sporting goods giant adidas used the elastic particle foam in a running shoe – see Plasteurope.com of 03.07.2013. A spokeswoman told Plasteurope.com that Infinergy is also produced in Germany at BASF's Ludwigshafen and Lemförde sites.
