BASF (Ludwigshafen / Germany; www.basf.com) has decided on group management changes. Effective 4 May 2018, at the end of the group's annual general meeting, Martin Brudermüller will become the new CEO. He is currently vice chairman of the board of executive directors and CTO at BASF, and will succeed Kurt Bock, who has been CEO since 2011 and member of the board since 2003 (see Plasteurope.com of 02.06.2010). This change allows Bock to be elected as a member and chair of the group’s supervisory board in 2020, after the required two-year "cooling-off" period. Hans-Ulrich Engel has been appointed as new vice chairman of the board. As part of the changes, the board will be reduced from eight to seven members in May.

Brudermüller has been an executive board member since 2006 and deputy chairman since 2011. During this time, he was responsible for, among other things, the Asia-Pacific region. Engel has been an executive board member since 2008 and was responsible for North America.
