Expanded antioxidants plant on stream in Singapore / "Irganox 1010" consolidated
BASF (Ludwigshafen / Germany; www.basf.com) has started up its expanded antioxidants capacity at Jurong Island, Singapore. Along with a number of other products, the plant, which supplies plastic additive markets in Asia and the Middle East, produces “Irganox 1010”. The additive, currently produced at BASF’s plant in Isohara / Japan, in future will be consolidated in Singapore.
Along with “further optimising” its manufacturing footprint in Asia Pacific, where it aims to concentrate 75% output of its products sold in the region by 2020, BASF said the recently completed investment will “ensure a continuous and reliable supply” of antioxidants for polymer customers in Asia.
The world’s largest chemical player maintains a global network of regional antioxidant production sites – in addition to Singapore, at Shanghai / China; Kaisen / Switzerland; McIntosh, Alabama / USA and Lampertheim / Germany. All sites are ISO 9001 certified and, especially important for the Middle East, core antioxidants are kosher as well as halal certified.
