BASF
SBC grade is suitable for blow moulding
BASF (Ludwigshafen / Germany; www.basf.com) says that its highly transparent SBC “Styrolux 3G46” introduced in 2006 is also suitable for blow moulding. Until now, the grade has been used mainly in extrusion and injection moulding. It is up to 30% lighter than conventional transparent blow moulding materials such as PVC, PET-G and PC and can be processed on all common blow moulding equipment, according to BASF. Processing temperatures are lower than for conventional materials, cycles are shorter and pre-drying is not necessary.
