Asian joint venture with Avy Precision / Punched metal parts added to portfolio
Balda-Investment Singapore, Asian subsidiary of German injection moulder and mobile phone supplier Balda (Bad Oeynhausen; www.balda.de), has established a joint venture with Avy Precision Technology (Taipei / Taiwan; www.avy.com.tw), in which the group holds a 60% stake. Initially, Balda will utilise Avy´s capacities to manufacture punched metal parts for housing components – see Plasteurope.com Web of 31.07.2006. However, CEO Joachim Gut said the company will consider building its own facilities if it secures orders worth at least EUR 10m. Avy is a subsidiary of optical products manufacturer Abico and produces housings for digital cameras at plants in Suzhou and Dongguan / China.
