Indian joint venture with Motherson Sumi
German injection moulding specialist Balda (Bad Oeynhausen; www.balda.de) and India´s Motherson Sumi Systems (MSSL, Noida; www.motherson.com) plan to establish a 60:40 joint venture to produce components for mobile phone components at Chennai / India. Production is tentatively slated to start in the second quarter of 2006, and the companies expect sales of EUR 10m by year´s end. The jv plans to invest USD 10m at the India site over the next 12-18 months. Balda said its major customers are building plants in India.
