The Bachmann Group (Hochdorf, Switzerland; www.bachmann.ch) has acquired HerkuPlast Kubern (Ering/Inn, Germany; www.herkuplast.com), as of 1 January. The two owner-managed companies have similar portfolios in the areas of growth, cultivation, and transport pallets.
HerkuPlast Kubern employs around 35 people. Reto Bachmann, head of the eponymous group, said the takeover would enable the company to further expand its market position in the horticultural sector. Financial details were not disclosed.
The Swiss processor based in the canton of Lucerne consists of Bachmann Forming, which produces thermoformed packaging for food, non-food, and healthcare, and Bachmann Plantec, which specialises in transport packaging and growth systems for horticulture. The group employs 280 people.
