The game of musical chairs at A. Schulman (Akron, Ohio / USA; www.aschulman.com) is entering round two. After bringing back former CEO Joseph Gingo and unseating incumbent Bernard Rzepka (see Plasteurope.com of 19.08.2016), the US compounder and distributor has announced further personnel changes. Chief procurement officer Gary Miller has been promoted to chief operating officer, effective immediately. In his new position, he will be in charge of the efficiency and effectiveness of the company’s global operations, and “play a critical role in restoring A. Schulman’s operational and financial performance worldwide,” Gingo said.
In addition, Frank Roederer – vice president of the group’s Engineering Composites unit – has been named senior vice president and general manager of A. Schulman’s activities in the United States and Canada (USCAN). He will remain in charge of Engineering Composites, too. Roederer, who joined the group in 2013, following earlier stints at Sabic, WR Grace and Dow, will be reporting directly to Miller.
Another new appointment is that of Andrean Horton to the position of executive vice president and chief legal officer. On 1 September, she will succeed David Minc, who will retire at the end of August – which coincides with the end to the company’s 2016 fiscal year. Minc will continue to serve as a consultant to A. Schulman, specifically in connection with the Lucent litigation (see Plasteurope.com of 01.07.2016).
