A little more than half a year after the new structure was formed, high performance polymer formulations specialist Axson Group (Cergy cedex / France; www.axson-group.com) has announced a number of projects across the globe. “We plan to double the size of the group within the next five years and reach EUR 500m in sales in 2016,” group president Charles Churet said, adding that Axson plans to acquire EUR 100m of new business in adhesives and composites in the future.
The projects include a new plant in Kolomna / Russia, a second production facility in India as well as expansions at the group’s existing plants in Shanghai / China and Curitiba / Brazil. Speaking to Plasteurope.com, a company representative said that the new facilities in both Russia and India would be fully integrated to include production facilities for all three Axson group members, which include Axson Technologies (Cergy cedex / France; www.axson.com), coatings business Axson BS Coatings (Aubevoye / France; www.bs-coating.com) and sealings, dampers and anticorrosion producer Axson Revocoat (St. Just en Chaussée/ France; www.revocoat.com). Axson did not specify the investment cost or the timeframe for these projects.
The growth plan also includes a new 51:49 coatings joint venture in Saudi Arabia with local player Saudi Industrial Paint Company (SIPCO). The name of the new jv still remains unclear. In addition, Axson said it had signed an alliance with Asahi Rubber (Saitama / Japan; www.asahi-rubber.co.jp), details of which were not disclosed. To achieve these goals, the French group simultaneously announced the appointment of André Genton as new chief operating officer.
