US labelling and packaging materials specialist Avery Dennison (Pasadena, California; www.averydennison.com) has upgraded its plant in Schwelm / Germany. The EUR 17m investment at the site went towards a new coater, among others, that is capable of running 24/7 and can handle two coating methods as well as 120 different solvent-based adhesives.

The new coater will give the group’s graphics customers across Europe access to more than 7,600 different product variations. Avery Dennison’s Graphic Solutions division specialises in the production of easy apply technology and supreme wrapping film for the automotive, architectural and advertising segments. The films can be applied on vehicles or rail carriages, for instance, to offer advertising for given periods of time.

In May this year, Avery Dennison strengthened its European high-quality pressure sensitive materials portfolio through the addition of MACtac's (Stow, Ohio / USA; www.mactac.com) European assets (see Plasteurope.com of 11.05.2016).
