Production of EPS-boards in Poland
Austrotherm GmbH (A-7423 Pinkafeld), according to their own statement Austria's largest producer of rigid foam, recently started manufacturing EPS-insulation boards for the Polish market in Oswiecim (Upper Silesia). In 1995, sales of 100,000 cbm of EPS boards are expected to be achieved within the trading area comprising 4m inhabitants. Sales expectancy is at ÖS 35m, 20 people are employed, Austrotherm stated.
The EPS production plant in Oswiecim of the joint venture between Austrotherm, the Polish raw materials manufacturer of EPS, Zaklady Chemiczne Oswiecim, and the business enterprise Ciech-Stomil, was built in less than twelve months with a planned capacity of 300,000 cbm. The sum invested, according to the Austrotherm-manager, Ferdinand Kühbacher, amounted to ÖS 22m.
