German automotive supplier AundE (Mönchengladbach; www.aunde.com) has announced the acquisition of 80% of shares in TB Kawashima (Toendo, Japan; www.tb-kawashima.co.jp). The transaction was completed on 1 November, as announced by the Mönchengladbach-based company; the purchase price was not disclosed. The remaining shares of TB Kawashima remain in the possession of previous parent company Toyota Boshoku (Kariya, Japan; www.toyota-boshoku.com).
TB Kawashima, founded in 2009, will operate as AundE Boshoku in future. The company, which has subsidiaries in the US, Mexico, China, India, Indonesia, and Thailand, manufactures technical textiles for the automotive industry and has a workforce of 730. AundE is no stranger to the acquired company – the TB Kawashima site in India was already a joint venture with the German supplier.
