Compounding is to become a major business for Dutch plastics recycler Aufplast BV (PO Box 80, NL-7680 AB Vroomshoop). To underline the increased importance, compounding activities are to move to a new site (Ambachtsweg 3, NL-7442 CS Nijverdal). Aufplast Recycling will remain in Vroomshoop. Along with reprocessing of production scraps into high quality granules, the company will also concentrate on compounding virgin material to manufacture speciality masterbatch compounds. For example, ABS, PC, PET, TPE, PA, PS, PP and PE can be custom compounded according to customer specifications. Aufplast Recycling will continue to reprocess industrial production scraps, for the most part PP, PS and PE. Altogether, Aufplast employs 50 and has annual sales of EUR 9m.

Aufplast is part of the AKG Aufderhaar Kunststofgroep BV (Kalkwijk 5, NL-7681 DV Vroomshoop), which includes a number of companies active in various segments of the plastics industry, including recycling, compounding, injection moulding, extrusion and blow moulding. Owned to 65% by Wadinko CV (NL-8000 AK Zwolle), water utility supplier for the province of Overijssel, AKG has more than 200 employees.

The group takes in Aufderhaar Plastics Industrie BV (API, PO Box 80, NL-7680 Vroomshoop), manufacturer of such articles as flower pots, buckets and clothes hangers through injection moulding, along with Kunststoffwerk Trusetal (KWT, Bahnhofstr. 6, D-98596 Trusetal), producer of injection moulded automotive parts. Interplast Spolka z.o.o. (PL-41908 Miechowice Bytom Spolka) is also part of the group, and AKG holds a share of 40% in Polish bottle crate producer Wavin Trepack Poland SJ (PL-Bytom-Glywiche), a joint venture with Wavin Trepack (PO Box 5, NL-7770 AA Haardenberg).
