Several days ago, Michel Loubry, western Europe regional director of plastics association PlasticsEurope (Brussels / Belgium; www.plasticseurope.org) passed away. He succumbed to a brief and serious illness, a PlasticsEurope spokesman told Plasteurope.com.
The 63-year-old chemical engineer was regarded beyond his home country as a staunch advocate for the use of plastics and especially plastic packaging. Loubry was regional director at PlasticsEurope since 2005, and sought close contact with processors. After the raw materials crisis in 2015, he worked intensively for a constructive dialogue between producers and processors.
