Daniele Ferrari appointed new president of PlasticsEurope Italia

After a unanimous vote at the 10 June meeting of the Italian branch of the European plastics manufacturers’ association PlasticsEurope (Brussels / Belgium; www.plasticseurope.org), Daniele Ferrari, president and CEO of Polimeri Europa, has been appointed the new head of the association’s Italy representation. Ferrari, whose term will extend to 2014, will succeed Alberto Alberti. M&G Polymers’ Victor Ghisolfi will act as Ferrari’s replacement.
Ferrari said that during his term of office, he plans to improve the cooperation between the various plastics associations, in order to better realise synergy effects. He also singled out sustainability as a key issue.
The association board also includes Catia Bastioli (Novamont), Michael Capolupo (Artenius Italy), Didier Carouge (Petrofina), Antonello Ciotti (Dow Equipolymers), Massimo Covezzi (Basell Polyolefins), Antonella Dall'Osto (DSM Composite Resins), Guido Dona (Arkema), Luigi Gerolla (Radici Novacips), Paolo Groppi (SolVin Italia), Daniele Petrini (Sabic Italia), Cino Serrao (Borealis Italia) and Nicola Voso (NGP).
PlasticsEurope Italia represents 43 companies, which together account for more than 90% of Italy’s plastics industry sales of EUR 9 bn.
