ASSOCIATIONS
Polish processors found Plastics Technology Club
In the wake of Poland’s last International Fair of Plastics and Rubber (EPLA, www.epla.pl), held in Poznan from 2-4 February, some 250 Polish processors on 23 March founded a new association, the Plastics Technology Club (Warsaw / Poland; www.technolog.eplastics.pl). Association vice president Waldemar Sobanski said the club’s establishment marked the end of an era of anomaly – after all, Europe’s sixth largest plastics market had existed without any sector association until then.
The new club is supposed to take on a role similar to that of the US Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE, Brookfield, Connecticut; www.4spe.org). Sobanski explained that the aim was to establish international contacts, organise training seminars and drive technological development.
