Jorge Nogueira appointed CEO of Lanxess joint venture

Jorge Nogueira has been appointed new CEO of Arlanxeo (Maastricht / The Netherlands; www.arlanxeo.com) with effect from 9 September 2017. He will succeed Jan Paul de Vries, who is leaving the joint venture of Lanxess (Cologne / Germany; www.lanxess.com) and Saudi Aramco (Dhahran / Saudi Arabia; www.saudiaramco.com). Up to now, Nogueira has headed the company’s Tire & Specialty Rubbers (TSR) business unit.
Prior to joining Arlanxeo, the Argentinian citizen worked in various managerial positions at Dow Chemical and former French chemicals producer Rhône-Poulenc before being named CEO of Brazilian petrochemicals producer Petroflex, acquired by Lanxess in 2008.
Christian Widdershoven, currently managing director of Arlanxeo Netherlands, will join the four-member executive board of the parent company, representing Lanxess. The Dutch native also heads Arlanxeo’s “Keltan” EPDM business. Widdershoven previously held leadership positions in the rubber business at Lanxess as well as DSM (Sittard / The Netherlands; www.dsm.com).
