Arkema (Colombes / France; www.arkema.com) and Aker Solutions (Oslo / Norway; www.akersolutions.com) have signed a memorandum of understanding for global cooperation on marketing of Arkema’s proprietary PVC technology. Under the agreement, Arkema will provide its technology and start-up technical services, while Aker Solutions will supply process design, engineering and construction. Otto Takken, executive vice president of Arkema’s vinyl products segment, said that the deal offers the opportunity for the company to develop its sales of PVC licenses in partnership with a leading engineering and construction group. It includes technical support to help potential licensees optimise Arkema’s PVC technology.
