ARKEMA / TOYOBO
Partnership to produce high temperature bio-based PA
Arkema (Colombes / France; www.arkema.com) and polyamide, film and fibre producer Toyobo (Osaka / Japan; www.toyobo.co.jp/e) have established a strategic partnership to develop high temperature polyamides from renewable resources. Two ranges, with melting points of around 250 °C and 315 °C, will be produced. With low moisture pick up and a bio-based content of up to 70%, the materials have been developed for metal replacement in consumer electronics and automotive applications.
