New centres in Portugal and Thailand opened / Assembly hall being built in Germany
German plastics machinery manufacturer Arburg (Loßburg; www.arburg.com) has partnered with consulting and engineering group Gura (Marinha Grande / Portugal; www.gura.pt) to inaugurate an "Arburg Technology Center" (ATC) in Marinha Grande. The centre will function as a site to present machines in a 340 m² showroom and will also offer consulting and training courses. The opening event included an open house, where digitalisation, smart machines and additive manufacturing were some of the themes.

The location in the middle of Portugal was chosen since it is a centre for Portuguese mould manufacturers. According to Arburg, it is the only injection moulding machinery manufacturer with a branch in Portugal and a market leader on the Iberian Peninsula. Arburg's activities in Portugal began in 1960 with the delivery of its first machines to the country and the collaboration with trading partner Sociedade Comercial Romar.

In 1997, Arburg's Spanish division started serving customers in Portugal. In addition to its headquarters in Madrid / Spain, the Spanish subsidiary has a second location in Montcada i Reixac near Barcelona.
More square metres for Arburg in Thailand and Germany
In Southeast Asia, Arburg has opened new premises in Samutprakarn / Thailand. Arburg Thailand branch manager Ratree Boonsay said, "We are very proud to have the largest Arburg showroom in Southeast Asia because of the new premises." She has managed the subsidiary since its founding in 2001. Samutprakarn is one of Thailand's leading industrial regions.

The injection moulding machinery manufacturer recently broke ground for the construction of an assembly hall at its headquarters in Loßburg. The investment for the building is in the double-digit million euro range and includes almost 22,000 m² for production and administration. The company will manufacture large injection moulding machines and turnkey systems at the site. Arburg says the ground floor is scheduled to be ready for use in the second half of 2020.
