Automotive supplier expands US production / New plants in Kentucky
Automotive supplier Grupo Antolin (Burgos / Spain; www.grupoantolin.com) is building two new plants at Louisville, Kentucky / USA, according to the state’s Cabinet for Economic Development, whose financing arm is providing investment aid. The USD 13.7m (EUR 12.7m) investment, which the company said would create 200 jobs within the next three years, includes new equipment, facility upgrades and lease costs for two buildings. Construction was due to begin this month.
The Spanish group, a supplier of automotive interior components such as roof and door linings and instrument panels, already operates an US plant at nearby Hopkinsville, Kentucky, employing 370 people. The state of Kentucky has approved up to USD 4m in performance-based tax incentives.
