EUR 4.5m plant opened in Slovakia / Facility established on Kia Motors site to produce headliners and door panels
Automotive interior components supplier Grupo Antolin (Burgos / Spain; www.grupoantolin.es) has opened a EUR 4.5m plant in Nededza, Žilina / Slovakia, which will produce modular headliners and door panels at Kia Motors Slovakia's facility in the town. The 5,000 m2 plant employs 90 people and has an annual production capacity for 150,000 modular headliners. It is expected to have sales of EUR 16m in 2012. The first units from the line were produced at the beginning of January 2012 for the Kia “Venga” (headliner and door panels) and “Sportage” (headliner) models.

This is the Spanish manufacturer’s second plant in Slovakia. It already operates a JIT production centre for modular headliners in Bratislava employing 205 people. Grupo Antolin recently acquired LED supplier CML Innovative Technologies (Besançon / France; www.cml-it.com) – see Plasteurope.com of 29.11.2011 – expanding its presence to 24 countries worldwide, with 95 facilities and over 13,000 employees. It reported a turnover of EUR 2.6 bn in 2011.
