New masterbatch plant opened in Australia
Masterbatch manufacturer Ampacet (Tarrytown, New York / USA; www.ampacet.com) has opened a new plant in Dandenong / Australia. The facility will produce custom colour masterbatches and additives to provide colour, texture, metallic and paper effects and functionality to flexible packaging and other products used in the food, shipping, industrial and retail industries.
“We have long had a significant presence in Australia and New Zealand. Our new Dandenong facility enables us to better serve our customers’ needs,” said Ampacet’s president and CEO, Yves Carette. The facility, which comprises two twin-screw extruders, the latest control systems and semi-automatic bagging systems, also houses a laboratory for product development and quality assurance.
Wade Noonan, Victoria’s state minister for industry and employment, said that Ampacet Australia was part of an ever-growing list of manufacturers who were choosing to base their operations in Dandenong – one of the nation’s largest manufacturing precincts.
