LDPE line in Iran's Mahshar now on stream
Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on 17 February officially commissioned eight new petrochemical lines in Mahshar, located in western Iran near the neighbouring Iraqi city of Basrah. Among the new facilities is a 300,000 t/y LDPE line operated by Amir Kabir Petrochemical Company (Mahshar / Iran; www.akpc.ir). The line operated by the state-owned NPC (Tehran / Iran; www.nipc.net) was originally scheduled to come on stream in 2008.
