US compounder and masterbatch specialist Americhem (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; www.americhem.com) has announced that its ColorRx brand of medical compounds and concentrates are now available in Europe.

 

The company said that this move would boost its efforts to meet the growing demand in the European healthcare industry, assisting local OEMs and moulders in expanding their medical device sectors.

“Our masterbatch and compounding excellence for advanced surgical instrumentation, robotic-assisted surgery (RAS), drug delivery, catheters, hearing aids, and more lines up with the needs of the European healthcare market,” said Barto DuPlessis, vice-president and general manager, Europe.

Americhem said its ColorRx compounds and masterbatches are available in 15 standard colours and seven standard base polymers that cover most formulations for the healthcare industry. The ColorRx polymers will be produced in one of Americhem’s three global ISO 13485 and cGMP compliant facilities, the company said, adding that they are ready to be produced at its clean compounding establishment in Ribe, Denmark.

The US firm said that its custom colour development and matching labs in both the US and the EU are also included the offering. In addition, additives can be incorporated for common healthcare applications, such as radiopacity and UV stabilisation. All formulations are tested for biocompatibility and are RoHS and REACH compliant, Americhem said.
