The American Chemistry Council (ACC, Washington, D.C.; www.americanchemistry.com) has announced Steve Russell’s decision to retire as vice president of the association’s plastics division. He will step down following the ACC board meeting on 7 February 2020, with consulting firm Korn Ferry assisting in finding a successor.

Russell joined the ACC in 1995 and has been leading the plastics division for more than 10 years, overseeing sustainability programmes, research and public outreach. He was involved in the formation of the World Plastics Council (WPC; www.worldplasticscouncil.org) and the expansion of the Global Plastics Alliance – see Plasteurope.com of 09.05.2018 and 16.12.2016. During his time at ACC, Russell led the development and delivery of guidance on chemical management issues at the state, federal and international levels and served as senior legal counsel to the ACC.
