Mono laminate for medical packaging said to meet PE reclaim demands
Swiss packaging group Amcor (Zurich; www.amcor.com) has announced the launch of a mono-polyethylene laminate that can be recycled in the PE stream.

The company said the film will result in recycle-ready lidding for 3D-thermoformed packages, including drapes, protective materials, catheters, and injection and tubing systems. Other applications include 2D pouches for wound care materials and gloves.

Amcor’s recycle-ready medical laminates are to be on display at the Compamed trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 13 to 16 November.

Daniel Roiz, sales and marketing director at Amcor HealthCare EMEA, said, “Our mono-polyethylene solution addresses the key issue of medical packaging recyclability and is a significant step towards helping the medical sector safely embrace more sustainable packaging solutions.”
