AMCOR
Purchase of Canadian custom precision moulder Plastic Moulders / Latest step in growth strategy
Continuing its recent acquisition spree in the Americas, Australia-based packaging giant Amcor (Hawthorn; www.amcor.com) in mid-May added custom precision moulder Plastic Moulders (Toronto / Canada; www.plasticmoulders.com) into its fold. The purchase, financial details of which were not disclosed, follows Amcor’s acquisition of US flexible packager Deluxe Packages in January (see Plasteurope.com of 11.01.2016) as well as its most recent buy, South American plastic packaging producer Alusa (see Plasteurope.com of 25.04.2016).

“This acquisition will continue our growth strategy,” said Amcor Rigid Plastics president Mike Schmitt. Amcor posted profits after tax (PAT) of USD 680.3m (EUR 593.3m) for its fiscal year ending 30 June 2015 (see Plasteurope.com of 27.08.2015).

Plastic Moulders specialises in the design, engineering, moulding and assembly of consumer packaged goods. It caters to a wide range of end markets, including health, beauty, food, pharmaceutical and industrial.
