Amcor Flexibles (Zurich / Switzerland; www.amcor.com) has introduced a barrier liner for “bag-in box” foods offering a combination of moisture barrier, mineral oil barrier and breathability. The company said that “Vodex Generation II” co-extruded packaging increases customer satisfaction, improves the consumer experience when opening the pack and provides safe consumption.
Amcor said that it has invested significantly in new technologies to further develop the original “Vodex” product at its HDPE extrusion facility in Workington / UK. The new material retains all the properties of the original such as barrier against mineral oil hydrocarbon (MOH) migration, recyclability, breathability, aroma and flavour retention. It offers improved moisture barrier for a longer shelf-life, easy-opening, increased packaging machine performance and value for money by providing more opportunities to downgauge film requirements. The films can be tailored to specific product needs to meet barrier, puncture resistance, breathability and cost requirements.
