First profile extrusion plant in India starts up

German PVC profiles producer Aluplast (Karlsruhe; www.aluplast.net) will start up its first window profile extrusion line in Vadodara, Gujarat / India in early April this year. The total investment in the plant, which will initially be capable of turning out 5,000 t of profiles, came to EUR 2.5m. Aside from Central Europe and South East Asia, India is one of the main growth regions, a company spokeswoman told Plasteurope.com, adding that now that the economic sanctions have been lifted, the group also foresees growth in Iran.
To date, Aluplast has been operating plants in Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Russia and Mexico. Company sales came to EUR 242m in 2015, up from EUR 229m in the preceding year. The group’s total workforce stands at 1,300, of which 650 are situated in Germany.
