PMMA resin adds colour to PVC profiles
Altuglas International (La Garenne Colombes / France; www.altuglasint.com) has launched a PMMA film for PVC profiles which is available in an unlimited choice of colours. A co-extruded layer of the transparent or coloured material, named “Altuglas” DRT Matt AS, can be used to protect PVC substrates in applications such as roller blind slats, pool covers, decking boards and greenhouses.
Altuglas, a subsidiary of Arkema (Colombes / France; www.arkema.com), said Altuglas DRT Matt AS provides high impact resistance, with a matt surface finish that is soft to the touch and antistatic. The material also provides resistance to UV and scratching, and is lower in cost than conventional laminated solutions because the process is carried out in a single step.
