Sanitary and heating pipes business divested
Alphacan (La Celle St Cloud / France; www.alphacan.com), a subsidiary of Arkema (Paris La Defense / France; www.arkema.com) is to divest its sanitary and heating pipes business to Comap (Lyon / France; www.comap-group.com), a subsidiary of Aalberts Industries (Langbroek / The Netherlands; www.aalberts.nl).
Alphacan is France’s leading producer of pipes for sanitary and heating applications. The business to be sold has annual sales of around EUR 25m and involves the design, production and marketing of cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) systems for domestic hot water pipes, heating pipes and floor heating/cooling networks. PEX pipes are produced at the company’s Nevers / France facility, which employs 85 people.
Alphacan said that it intends to refocus on its core PVC pipes and profiles businesses.
