German film manufacturer takes over Dutch supplier of vacuum food packaging

Through its subsidiary Allfo Nederland, the Allfo Group (Waltenhofen, Germany; www.allfo.de) has acquired Dutch supplier of vacuum bags, shrink bags, and films Zakpak (Vlaardingen, Netherlands; www.zakpak.nl). No details regarding the purchase price have been disclosed.
According to Allfo, as part of the acquisition, Zakpak’s production will be relocated to Allfo’s existing site in Wormerveer, Netherlands. The company went on to say that Zakpak’s employees will be retained, bringing the total workforce to 18. Additionally, production capacity is set to be expanded with the installation of six new converting machines. The new machines are scheduled to begin operating at the site near Amsterdam in the coming weeks. In total, production and storage space will increase to 2,200 m², according to Allfo Group CEO Hans Bresele.
The group based in southern Germany specialises in manufacturing vacuum bags, three-side seal bags, shrink bags, and tubing bags. In addition to applications in the food sector, its products are also used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and chemical industries.
The group employs around 350 people across five production sites. It has a film production capacity of 30,000 t/y and generated a turnover of EUR 150 mn last year.
