Acquisition of Italian pipe manufacturer Lareter

With the purchase of Lareter (Fiesso Umbertiano, Italy; www.lareter.it), pipe manufacturer Aliaxis (Brussels; www.aliaxis.com) has strengthened its European business. The Belgian company did not disclose the buying price.

Lareter manufactures polyethylene and PVC pressure pipes and fittings for water treatment. The products are used, for example, in swimming pools and shipbuilding. Its core markets are Italy, France, and Germany. The company, based in the Veneto region, was founded 60 years ago, recently generated a turnover of almost EUR 40 mn with 80 employees.

Aliaxis has around 14,000 employees in over 40 countries. It reported turnover last year of EUR 3.7 bn.
