Distribution of Plexiglas, Pleximid expanded to UK and Ireland

German plastics distributor Albis (Hamburg; www.albis.com) has expanded its partnership with Röhm (Darmstadt, Germany; www.roehm.com), securing distribution rights for Plexiglas and Pleximid in the UK and Ireland. The company said that the arrangement took effect at the start of February, building on Albis’s previous growth in Turkey, North Africa, the Baltics, and Scandinavia.

According to the plastics distributor, Plexiglas – Röhm’s PMMA – is known for its durability, light transmission, and long service life, making it a preferred material in numerous industrial applications. The company went on to say that it also offers Plexiglas proTerra, a variant made from post-industrial recycled or ISCC Plus-certified raw materials, addressing the rising demand for environmentally friendly high-performance plastics. Pleximid, a PMMI, is valued for its heat resistance and transparency, making it ideal for optical and electronic applications.

Albis now supplies the entire Plexiglas and Pleximid product range in multiple regions. With this latest expansion, the company said it is set to strengthen its position in the European plastics distribution market.
