German distributor and compounder Albis Plastic (Hamburg / Germany; www.albis.com) has expanded its distribution portfolio. Effective immediately, the company will distribute LyondellBasell’s (LBI, Rotterdam / The Netherlands; www.lyondellbasell.com) PE 100 and PE 80 grades, used mostly in the manufacture of pipes. Albis says it has also been tasked with distributing LyondellBasell’s PP grades used in pipe production.

The German distributor believes both grades have great growth potential in Russia and Turkey especially. Characteristics of PE 100 and PE 80 include low weight, organoleptic properties, high resistance to corrosion and a good balance between stiffness and ductility.
