Second Saytex capacity expansion in Arkansas
Albemarle (Richmond, Virginia / USA; www.albemarle.com) is to expand production of its “Saytex 8010” flame retardant by almost 20% at its Magnolia, Arkansas / USA facility to meet increased demand. The additional capacity is due on stream in January 2008. Albemarle previously completed a major capacity expansion for the product in 2007.
The combined investment in increasing capacity is over USD 8m (EUR 5.7m). The company says that the flame retardant provides effective fire safety at low loading levels and good performance in a broad range of styrenics, polyolefins, PVC/nitrile rubber and other polymers.
