Sun Capital sells packaging manufacturer to French investment company PAI Partners
A change of ownership is on the cards for French cosmetics packaging manufacturer Albéa (Gennevilliers; www.albea-group.com). According to Sun European Partners, the European subsidiary of Sun Capital Partners (Boca Raton, Florida / USA; www.suncappart.com), the group is being sold to funds advised by investment company PAI Partners (Paris / France; www.paipartners.com). Financial details were not disclosed, and regulatory approval is pending.
Since its acquisition by Sun Capital in 2010, Albéa has acquired numerous companies. Among others, in 2010 the French company took over UK tube manufacturer Betts Global and in 2011 its US competitor Eyelematic. This was followed in 2012 by the acquisition of Chinese cosmetic packaging manufacturer Zhongshan Meiquan Plastic Products (known as TEX China) – see Plasteurope.com of 30.04.2012. In 2016, the French company took over laminate tubes producer Scandolara Tub-Est in Levice / Slovakia – see Plasteurope.com of 08.09.2016.
Altogether, Albéa has 38 production sites in Europe, Asia and the Americas. The group employs 15,000 people, and reports that it supplies customers in 60 countries.
