Honeywell spin-off starts trading as independent company / Shares launched on New York Stock Exchange
Leading PA 6 producer AdvanSix (Morris Plains, New Jersey / USA; www.advan6.com) has started trading as an independent company following its spin-off from American conglomerate Honeywell (see Plasteurope.com of 13.05.2016). Shares began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on 3 October under the ticker symbol ASIX.
President and CEO of AdvanSix, Erin Kane, said the move to become a standalone business provides the company with the flexibility to pursue growth strategies aligned with industry dynamics, the agility to serve customers and builds on its operational discipline.
AdvanSix, which sells PA 6 under the “Aegis” brand, posted revenues of USD 1.3 bn in 2015. The company also produces polyamide feedstock caprolactam, “Capran” PA film, “Sulf-N” ammonium sulphate fertilisers, and chemical intermediates including phenol, acetone and “Nadone” cyclohexanone.
Its main production facility in Hopewell, Virginia / USA, is one of the world’s largest single-site plants for caprolactam. AdvanSix also operates a PA resin plant in nearby Chesterfield, Virginia, a phenol/acetone facility in Frankford, Pennsylvania, and a PA film site in Pottsville, also in Pennsylvania.
