With its Soft Est 1150 TP brand, Actega DS (Bremen, Germany; www.actega.com/ds), a member of the Altana group, is offering a TPE material series especially for the manufacture of pet products such as dog toys. The material, the company says, is highly transparent and offers a high gloss level. The TPE compound, which can be injection-moulded, has a Shore A-50 hardness and high tear resistance.
Actega markets 21 different TPE compounds under the brand name Soft Est that are either highly transparent, translucent, or natural-coloured in Shore hardness from A-20 to A-85.
