Mexican sales branch opens / Move follows US expansion

Shortly after putting its 6,500 t/y US compounding plant in Gastonia, North Carolina into operation in early March, family-owned Swedish compounder Polykemi (Ystad; www.polykemi.se) has announced the establishment of a Mexico-based distribution firm.

Polykemi Mexico, headquartered in Mexico City, is headed by former partner Fernando Gonzalez. The company said its new subsidiary is responsible for distributing compounds made in Gastonia to the Mexican market and neighbouring South American countries.
According to Mattias Persson, head of sales at Polykemi, Mexican customers were previously either served by the company’s Swedish headquarters or partners in the US.
