German machinery manufacturer KraussMaffei (Munich; www.kraussmaffei.com) is starting up production of its “PX” injection moulding machines in China at Sanming, Fujian, for the domestic market. The company says customers in China will benefit from short delivery times and rapid response.
While the delivery time for customised machines is four to six weeks, standard “PX Agile” machines can now be delivered ex works. The “PX Agile 80” and “PX Agile 160” machines with a clamping force of 800 kN and 1600 kN, respectively, will be presented at “Chinaplas” (www.chinaplasonline.com), which is taking place from 21 to 24 May 2019 in Guangzhou, Guangdong – see Plasteurope.com of 08.11.2018.
“The new PX Agile offers precisely the advantages that dynamic companies in China request: large platens and high performance, which permit varied, flexible application of the machines in production,” says Hans Golz, president of KraussMaffei’s injection moulding segment. “Furthermore, low investment costs and easy operability of the machines are in demand.”
According to media reports, KraussMaffei is expanding its activities in China with the construction of a new plant in Haiyan, Zhejiang, where it currently manufactures injection moulding and extrusion machinery. The company expects to double capacity here by 2020. The German company was acquired by petrochemical group China National Chemical (ChemChina, Beijing; www.chemchina.com.cn) in 2016 – see Plasteurope.com of 11.01.2016.
