"Surlyn" resin adds gloss to "Nivea Beauté" lipsticks

Personal care and consumer products group Beiersdorf (Hamburg / Germany; www.beiersdorf.com) has specified "Surlyn PC 2000" packaging resin from DuPont (Wilmington, Delaware / USA; www.dupont.com) for a transparent lens decorating two lipsticks in its "Nivea Beauté" range. Surlyn resins provide an alternative to glass for cosmetics manufacturers requiring caps, closures or jars with high transparency and chemical resistance. In this application, the lens adorns the blue and silver metallised caps of the "Colour Passion" and "Colour Passion Brilliance" lipsticks.
