Films producer pledges to move towards sustainable materials by 2028
Klöckner Pentaplast (kp, Montabaur / Germany; www.kpfilms.com) has launched a "Positive Plastics Pledge" to move its production toward sustainably sourced products. By 2028, the company is planning "where possible" to produce films made of 100% recyclable or sustainably produced polymers. About the pledge, CEO Daniel Dayan says the company has "big ideas about reducing littering."
In 2018, kp is collaborating with various organisations, including on the circular economy voluntary commitments of the European plastics industry – see Plasteurope.com of 19.01.2018 – and the "UK Plastics Pact" – see Plasteurope.com of 04.05.2018. In addition, the company is aligning with the British Plastics Federation's (BPF, London; www.bpf.co.uk) plans to reduce the impact of plastics waste in the marine environment – see Plasteurope.com of 25.05.2018.
