From 1 January 2020, distribution company Helm (Hamburg / Germany; www.helmag.com) plans to market an increased amount of propylene from German refinery PCK Schwedt (Schwedt; www.pck.de), by more than 100,000 t/y. “The higher volume will further strengthen our reliability and flexibility for our partners,” said Benjamin Kraatz, Helm’s head of propylene.
In the past fiscal year (ending 31 May), Helm generated global revenues of EUR 8.3 bn, up 11% over the previous year. Of this total, EUR 3.7 bn was attributable to its chemicals business segment, representing a 42% increase. Methanol product trading was a key contributor to the segment’s good performance.
