Bioplastics specialist FKuR (Willich / Germany; www.fkur.com) has added two glass-reinforced grades within the “Bio-Flex” and “Terralene” product ranges and three “Terraprene” TPE grades.
“Bio-Flex GF30” is a PLA-based compound with 30% glass fibre content by weight. “Terralene GF30” is a PE compound, also with 30% glass fibre content that is a bio-based alternative to other glass fibre-PE grades.
The bio-based Terraprene TPE compounds now include grades “SI 701” and SI 801”, which the company says have a bio-content of 55-75%. “Terraprene CI 250 84A” and “Terraprene CI 450 93A” are two oil-free TPEs with Shore A hardness of 84 or 93. These can substitute TPE-O and PVC in injection moulding applications.
FKuR’s new products will be showcased at the “K 2019” (www.k-online.com) trade fair in Düsseldorf / Germany from 16-23 October.
